Good evening my little stars,♡
Today’s blog post is going to be me telling you about the week my family and I spent in Italy in May half term. If you are interested we went to Lake Garda in Italy. We flew into Verona and it was my first plane ride and I really enjoyed it. 💗
Our week consisted of lots of good pasta, pizza and gelato! The food in Italy was incredible and I loved it all. Our week was filled with lots of hot and sunny days and the sky a clear beautiful blue. Lots of nature and flowers everywhere, lots of colour. Lots of lovely people! We swam in Lake Garda and visited all the small villages and towns along it. I will try and remember some of the names: Bardolino, Lazise, Torri Del Benaco, Veneto, Garda, Riva del Garda and Sirmione.
We went on a boat trip around the lake and it was so lovely to see everything. We saw lots of old ruins and historic buildings. We went up Sirmione castle and it was so breathtaking. We also drove up to the mountains to see all the gorgeous views which were just incredible.Everything in Italy is so clean and looked after. Everyone cares about it. Also one of my favourite bits were the stripey houses which would seem crazy if someone moved in near you and decided to paint stripes on their house in the U.K. I loved the fashion and to listen to all the different languages that were being spoken. Dutch, German, Italian, French and Spanish were the ones I could pick out but there were bound to be lots more! In Italy as it gets very hot there is also this thing which the Spanish also have called a Si-esta which is from 12-3 in the afternoon where people are meant to just sleep and relax as it gets too hot between those times of the day to do anything. But we were normally out during those times and it was okay as when I left the UK a heatwave had just finished and it was awful. I was on school all week and it was just too hot. I couldn’t concentrate there were too many people and it wasn’t fun. It’s okay for it to be hot in any European country because you can relax and you don’t have to be stuck in a building if you are on holiday but not in the U.K. I can’t take it!
I ended up buying 2 makeup bits, both eyeshadows made in Italy sold in Italian makeup brands and it was a lovely shop in Riva called Beauty Star. I also bought 2 pieces of clothing from Blanc du Nil which are French but very popular in Italy. They sell all white cotton clothing and it was lovely. They had shops all around the lake. I also bought some post cards for myself that show the Lake and they are fab. I also bought foodie bits and drinks etc. Also a key ring of a flip flop saying Lake Garda! 😋
Italy was one of the most enlightening experiences of my life and I loved every minute of it! I hope by sharing only about 5 photos below you get the gist of what my week was like. ( I’m actually so annoyed because most of the pictures that I took on Tuesday had a blur on them because I had a smudge on my lens that I didn’t see but I did notice when looking back on it in the evening so the rest from them on were good. )
This photo is of people enjoying Lake Garda- swimming and laughing. I took this because the lake looked beautiful and the people looked like silhouettes against the sun;s raise in the evening. I thought it was really cool. I took this Sunday 28th May.
This one is of Lazise, this was such a pretty town and this was the entrance. I took this Monday 29th May in the early morning and it was so sunny already.
This one was taken in Bardolino, another morning shot on Wednesday 31st May. Another picturesque town which was fab to see!
This was taken on Thursday 1st June on Sirmione which was a mini island on the lake. This is the view of the whole island from the beautiful castle. Sirmione was my favourite day.
This last photo was taken on Friday 2nd June at Riva del Garda. This is a very pretty pink hotel called Bellavista. I just couldn’t resist to take a picture! It is so freaking cute!
That’s all I have to say to be honest! I hope you all enjoyed this blog post and if you fancy seeing more pictures check out my Facebook page which I will leave linked below, also my two Instagram accounts! @everythingedenx and @edens.photgraphyy ✨
