Braces Experience & Q&A! ♡

Good morning my loves! ♡

Welcome to another blog post! Today I am going to be sharing with you my braces experience and answering your questions about braces! If you have any other questions that I didn't answer in this post, feel free to leave them below. I hope you enjoy the post! 💗

So I am going to start right at the beginning when I first got put on the list for braces on the NHS. I got put on the list when I was around 10 years old as I had always known and my dentist did too that I needed braces. So then I waited about 2 years but it can be longer or shorter, I then went for my consultation appointment where I had an X-ray of my teeth and had moulds taken which were disgusting by the way. That was in July 2015 and then in August I went to my dentist twice a week apart and had 4 teeth taken out in total. This really hurt I am not going to sugar coat it but it is all worth it in the end!

Then in September I got my top brace on, again I'm not going to sugar coat it this was one of the worst experiences of my life but it was my orthodontists fault as he was bad and I now don't have him as he retired. I assure you yours will be fine. Anyway it was achey for a few days and then it got better!

I then went back in December and had my bottom brace on and hat was a lot less painful thank god. It again ached for a few days and the it was fine.

Then I've been back every 3 Months since December to have my braces tightened and things added like bands and bumpers. Then on 8th August 2017 after having my braces on for 1 year and 11 months ( 23 months) nearly 2 years I had them off and I was so happy. The difference these braces have made to my life is incredible. I'm so much more confident and have more self esteem!

I am now going to answer all your questions about braces so let's begin:

Q1) @vidss_byisobelx asked: have you ever broken your braces?

A) Yes I have, quite a lot actually which is really embarrassing to say but I haven't been the best at taking care of them.

Q2) @stripey368 asked: how did you find out that you needed braces?

A) I always knew as my teeth were always wonky since my adult teeth came through properly and my dentist always told me from about the age of 7 or 8.

Q3) @unicorn.jess13 asked: does it hurt when putting them on?

A) Yes it did for me but it doesn't mean it will for you, we all have different pain thresholds. Also my first orthdonst was bad.

Q4) @alexandraageorgiaa asked: what colour do you have?

A: I've had quite a few colours such as purple, pink, blue and just basic silver! You can change your colour every time you go!

Q5) @itscaitlin.x asked: does it hurt when taking them off?

A) No it doesn't hurt but you do get a tight pull when he is loosening the brackets and the wires. But it is not a painful experience at all.

Q6) @pastel.rosexox asked: are they annoying to clean?

A) Not really no! Just brush your teeth thoroughly to get rid of trapped food! Take care of them well.

Q7) @flawed_mermaid asked: do you find it any different to do anything with them?

A) Only eating chewier foods and being more careful when grinding and biting together.

Q8) @thediaryofp asked: does any aspect hurt, is there anything you can't do because of them?

A) I found mostly everything to ache or hurt but it does mean it will for you and you just have to be careful around chewier foods!

Q9) @theaveragegurl asked: do you like having braces / did you like having them?

A: Mostly no but also yes because I knew what a difference they would make to my life with my confidence and self esteem!

Q10) @tianabethan.x asked: best colours to have and did you ever find it awkward eating in school?

A) The best colours to have are the darker ones which make your teeth look whiter and I do find it awkward eating in school sometimes but it's fine once you get used to it!

Q11) @_emms_life_ asked: any tips to stop blisters?

A) If you start to feel them coming get the bonjela out immediately and just be careful if they start to hit your top and bottom lips and gums and rub just move them around.

That's it for this post I hope you enjoyed. If this post gets to 30 likes I will be doing a contact lense experience so if you would like that let me know!

Lots of love,

I’m happy for you that you’ve finally got rid of braces! My little sister has to have them, thankfully I don’t. As a young teen I always wanted them because they were ‘in fashion’ 😂
