Tips for when you feel Anxious! ♡

I hope you have all had a good week so far!

Today’s post is going to be one for a campaign set up by one of my blogging friends Sophie from One Unique: Her campaign is called Huddle & Cuddle and it’s all about raising awareness for mental health and letting people know they are not alone and they can always talk to someone about their problems. 

My post for this campaign is going to be sharing some tips about what you can do to calm down or to feel better when you are feeling anxious! I hope this will help some of you if you ever get anxious which even if you don’t have anxiety or depression we all get anxious or nervous sometimes, so I hope these tips can help. I am in no means a councillor or a specialist in mental health so these are just tips that help me! 

1. Concentrate on your breathing. 

It really helps to just shut your eyes and really concentrate and listen to your breathing. Feel your chest and stomach area rising and lifting and to think about that air going into your lungs and air coming out again. Take nice deep breaths.

2. Think about nice things.

If you are feeling anxious, thinking about things that make you happy can really help. Whether that’s cosy nights in, your favourite foods or lambs jumping over gates ha ha. If you can think of happy things you can believe that you can get to that happy situation soon and your anxious feelings or situations won’t last forever.

3. Talk to someone you trust.

Getting all your feeling out is a great thing to do. Talking and spilling out all your problems to your mum or your best friend can help so much. You might feel like you are burdening but if someone really cares about you they will want to help you get through tougher times.

4. Have a good old cry.

It is okay to cry sometimes, it is in fact a healthy thing to do. Crying can get it all out but also make you feel so much better after. It is surprising what crying can do. Let yourself cry.

5. If it is a situation get out of it or leave it

If it is a situation that is making you anxious then leave it for a while, go outside of to the toilets just so that you can calm down and go back if you want but if you feel so anxious go home. It’s best to get out of that situation to somewhere you feel comfortable.

    These are some lovely tips. I feel like my anxiety only gets worse as I get older, and I know I have to do things like concentrate on my breathing. Most times I just cry though lol (in the comfort of my car). Thanks for the post, I’ll be sure to check out the campaign!

    I can agree so much with these tips! Especially concentrating on my breathing and sometimes crying it out is the only thing that can help. Thank you so much for sharing <3

    This post is fantastic and I love the idea of this campaign. I tend to just have a good old cry when things get too much in my car when I’m out and about on my own. Thank you for sharing.
