Hello everyone! ♡
Welcome back to my blog, hey if you are new here, thanks for joining my family. My name is Eden and I blog all about what I love ranging from makeup to positive chats and photography, I hope you enjoy my posts and blog!
Today’s post is going to be the first proper post of my Welcome to Wales series as my last one was just an introduction with facts. I am going to be sharing you some of my favourite places in Wales as I thought that would be a great way to start and then I can delve deeper into more detail about specifics in other blog posts that will come in the future. I hope all my fellow welshies enjoy this post and I hope everyone does!
The Gower Penninsula- Swansea
This place is utterly stunning and that is no understatement, I love a good beach and Wales is definitely your place for a gorgeous beach. The Gower offers amazing views across Wales, golden sands and pretty blue seas. It gets full of tourists very year and it is just incredible. Especially if the weather decides to give us sun and warmth, perfect! It has so many happy memories for me and I am always so happy to be there, it makes me very proud to be Welsh.
Some facts about the Gower:
- It is one of the UK’s Areas of outstanding Natural beauty and it was the first place in the UK to be given this title in 1956.
- It was featured in Doctor Who, Rhossili bay to be specific.
- It has one of the most photographed sunsets in the UK.
Cardiff – Shopping, Sites and History
I absolutely LOVE Cardiff and that is so ture. First of all, I am a total city geek, cities are just my dream and the biggest and nearest one to me is Cardiff. I love shopping first of all, I am a shopaholic and Cardiff has so many shops avalible like: Urban Outfitters, Lush, Victoria’s Secret, Hollister and Mac. For us shopaholics living in Wales, the Cardiff shopping experience is the nearest place to us. Moving away from shopping, we also have the sites like: Cardiff Castle and the National Museum which show the lovely history of Cardiff so you can learn new things not only for tourists but for people living in Wales too. It also has the motorpoint arena and the principality stadium for events, concerts and shows which also shows a happy, beautiful culture in Cardiff!
Castell Coch (The Red Castle)
Wales is obviously very well known for its castles and one of my favourites is Castell Coch, the views from the castle are stunning and the actual castle has been very well-preserved and kept lovely. The inside is the best bit, some of the bedrooms look like they are out of their fairy tales that you read when you were a little kid, the ceilings are so detailed and it is actually the castle that I think is one of the best ones I have ever been to in Wales. Here are some more facts about it:
- It is a 19th century gothic castle.
- It was actually built around the 11th-13th century and the rebuilt in the 18th/19th century.
- It has made numerous appearances in some well-known TV shows and films.
- It is known as the fairytale castle.
That’s it for today’s post about Wales, I really hope you enjoyed it and felt that you learnt something. I hope you didn’t find it too boring.
Have a great rest of your week!
