Good evening my lovelies! ♡
Today’s post is the first of hopefully many. I am starting an interview series called Tea Talks, where I’m going to be interviewing other bloggers and influencers who are inspiring and I think you would all like to hear about to find some new people and learn about them! I have had an amazing response of bloggers wanting to be interviewed so I will be doing a full month in March!
Today’s interview is with the lovely Kathryn from: http://www.cherriesinthesnow.co.uk/ , she blogs all about makeup and skincare! I hope you enjoy the post and make sure to check her blog out!
Me: Hi Kathryn could you tell my readers all about you and our blog?
Kathryn: I’m Kathryn and I run a beauty blog named Cherries in the Snow. My very first content was produced way back in 2010. I was inspired by Youtubers and bloggers like Anna from The Anna Edit (known as Vivianna Does Makeup back then) and Laura from Buy Now Blog Later (formally Lollipop26). So I set up my own blog and started rambling about makeup and skincare. I’ve struggled with acne since I was a teenager so blogging and reading other people’s content was an excellent way to discover new products and treatments. My blog has changed over time to include elements of travel, lifestyle and fashion content but I’ll always focus on beauty as it’s my love!
Me: Wow you have been blogging for over 7 years that’s amazing, what makes you carry on?
Kathryn: I actually really enjoy the blogging process. I love testing out new products, taking photos, chatting to people in the blogging community and writing up blog posts. I have had periods where I have taken a little blogging break but I always come back to it!
Me: Aw I totally agree, how do you manage to balance your blog with your job?
Kathryn: I work full time and I usually use my weekends and evenings to catch up on the blog. During the winter it can be hard to take photos so I bulk shoot on the weekends and then writing up pieces in the evenings when it is too dark for photos.
Me: Great idea! What are your future plans for your blog?
Kathryn: I want to keep improving the quality of my content, better photos, more blog posts each week. I’d like it to become a blog that people come back to time and time again. Going that extra mile will hopefully help my blog more noticed by readers.
Me: Sounds amazing! What tips would you give to people who the new bloggers or who are wanting to start a blog?
Kathryn: I’ve seen a few people wanting to start blogs for the freebies and expect to earn money from the very beginning. My advice is only to start a blog if you really have the passion, the PR samples and sponsored content comes after years of hard work, don’t expect it to happen instantly.
Me: Yes so true, you have to love what you are doing! Do you have a holy grail beauty product and if so what and why?
Kathryn: My holy grail beauty product is a rather boring one but it’s effective and I can’t be without it! Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream soothes my sensitive skin and helps create a well moisturised base for makeup!
Me: That sounds incredible! I need to try it! Lastly, can you tell me what are your favourite posts to write and link some of your faves for me to share!
Kathryn: Beauty product reviews are my favourite things to write up. I often read up in product reviews before purchasing something so I try and write comprehensive reviews to help others with their purchases too!
Me: Thats brilliant. Thank you for answering all of my questions!
That’s it for today’s post! Make sure to show Kathryn some love on her blog some of her favourite posts she has done are linked here: http://www.cherriesinthesnow.co.uk/2017/09/bourjois-rouge-velvet-lipstick-review.html?m=1
