Hey everyone, ♡
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY to all the amazing women who are in my everyday life and in my online life! Thanks to all the lovely girlies who read my blog posts every week it mean the world you have no idea! 🙋🏼😘💖
I hope you are enjoying these interviews so far, it is so fun to do them and I hope they inspire you because they are all amazing women! Today’s blogger interview is with the lovely Ellie from: https://thediaryofellie.com/ we have been blogging friends for a while, she is so super lovely and her blog is amazing!
Me: So could you tell my readers a bit about you and your blog?
Ellie: So my name is Ellie, i’m 18 years old and from the UK- more specifically Birmingham. My blog is a bit of everything to be honest, mainly Lifestyle but i love to blog about beauty, photography and a little bit about Fashion. I think my favourite type of posts are hauls!
Me: That’s brilliant! What are your favourite posts to write and can you link somebody for my followers to read!
Ellie: Hauls are a definite favourite of mine, i think my favourite haul i wrote was when I did an order from Romwe! https://
Me: I love hauls and they are so fun to write! How do you manage to balance blogging with school?
Ellie: I love reading hauls too! Well i go to college so it’s a little different to school, so i’m only in 3 days a week. This means that i get time on Wednesdays and Fridays as well as weekends to take photos and write up blog posts. We don’t really get much work to do at home so there isn’t much balancing to do. If i do have assignments due that i need to do at home then i allocate a certain amount of time for blogging and a certain amount of time for college work, usually prioritising college work first so that then I can finish that and just do some blogging work without worrying that I have college work to do.
Me: Sounds good! What are your plans for the future of your blog?
Ellie: I hope to keep growing my following and gain more readers! I want to start adding more photography type posts into my blog and maybe one day as a future goal make it my job!
Me: Aw yes I would love blogging as my job aswell and I’m sure you can do it! What do you find is the most frustrating thing about blogging?
Ellie: I think the most frustrating thing about blogging is when you can’t get good pictures. Whether that’s because you don’t have a good background or because the daylight has gone and you need natural light. In my opinion, a photo makes or breaks the blog post so trying to get that perfect image can be so frustrating.
Me: So true! Do you have any tips for new bloggers or people wanting to start a blog?
Ellie: I think that an important tip for new bloggers is to definitely create yourself a Twitter for your blog! You can gain so much traffic from Twitter and support loads of other bloggers. It’s a nice way to make friends, asks for tips and just be apart of the blogger community. A tip for people who want to start a blog is do your research when it comes to what platform you want to use. WordPress and Blogger are the main 2 but there are a few more, look into the pros and cons of both! I started out on Blogger for over a year and then switched to WordPress, so it’s finding what’s best for you.
Me: They are some great tips! How do you motivate yourself to upload blog posts?
Ellie: Sometimes when my stats are quite low i start feeling slightly unmotivated! The way that i motivate myself to upload posts is by knowing at least one person will appreciate it and then of course once you start uploading the comments and views come in and it’s worth while.
Me: Yes it is so worthwhile! What inspired you to start blogging?
Ellie: I’ve always had a passion for writing, whether that’s poems or short stories or little scripts from the age of 10! I found out about blogging from a young age, when Ii was about 11 i was apart of a blog for the website Stardoll and I blogged about my outfits on there! It was so much fun, i felt a sense of passion for what i wrote and just thought this was something I really wanted to do.
Me: Aw that’s so lovely! Lastly if you could describe your blog in 3 words what would you choose?
Ellie: Creative, unique and cute!
Me: I definitely agree! Thanks so much much for taking the time to answer my questions it’s is much appreciated!
Thanks so much to Ellie for taking part in the interview, I hope you all enjoyed this post! I will see you next week with another one! Keep smiling!
