Hey everyone, ♡
Today’s blog post is going to be a look back, reflection and ramble as I have now been blogging for 3 years, the best 3 years if I do say so myself. Blogging has become my happy place, I always think about snuggling up under my duvet with my laptop and a Youtube video playing while I write, it is the best and I want to share mt journey with you today! I really hope you enjoy the post and let me know down below ho long you have been blogging for and if you relate to anything I have said.
I actually never thought I would be writing today’s blog post as I never stick to anything, I have basically quit ever club that I joined, so that is a great start. It is true what they say about everyone having to start somewhere, I was 12 at the end of my Year 7 career who needed something to keep her occupied outside of family, friends and school. I had always loved writing and still do, I actually had been begging my mum for quite a while for her to let me start a blog as I had heard about them. At that time, I don’t think I really understood what they were but I did research and found WordPress. When my mum fully allowed me to start, I created floraleden.wordpress.com what a throwback, if any of you are OG’s and remember that, thank you for sticking around. That was at the start of June 2015, look how much things have changed…….
I vividly remember my first photo I took for my blog when I finally decided I was going to start it, I had just been in the shop and got a Fruit Pastilles lolly and then stood outside the shop and took a photo. That blog post has been long deleted but I remember how happy I was to have started something new and I was really excited to see if anyone would read it. I was really inconsistent with my posts up until the end of 2015 but I really enjoyed it and I was really happy. I think I wrote Christmas gift ideas, favourites post and probably some makeup as well. It was a mess to say the least but everyone has to start somewhere.
Then in 2016, I started off with lots of really terrible flash photography of lipsticks and stuff, it was pretty boring and embarrassing not going to lie. The only good thing that came out of that was me uploading reguarly. Thank god, spring came eventually and ended the flash photos, ewwwwww. But, it was still plain flatlays on my dirty window sill, how nice. I was still really enjoying it and I was really proud at the time and blogging still made me really happy and people were reading it, thank you all for sticking by me, through some horrendous fazes. It means so much.
So, let’s talk about now,. no flash photos ever again and I try and make my blog a lot less generic, so for me I want to start writing more unique posts that are more personal to me. Blogging still makes me the happiest girl in the world and I wouldn’t change a thing. Hopefully, now my blog is going in a great direction and I want to now always use my blog in the most positive way possible. I want to help and inspire people. Blogging has helped me learn so so much about myself and has helped me develop so much as a person. I am definitely not the same little 12 year old Eden who started this blog and I feel like my blog has changed and grown with me.
Blogging has also taught me so much, it has made me a better person and I have been educated whilst maybe educating. It has been a crazy journey for me, that I NEVER NEVER want to end because as I have repeated throughout this post, blogging is the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. It has come so far but that has also meant that I have come so far.
I hope my blog can continue to be a reflection of who I am as a person and who I will continue to grow to be. I want my blog to always be in my life because it is part of me. I have made the bestest friends through blogging and it is lovely to speak to people who are similar to me because not a lot of people I know in my everyday life understand what I do. It can be quite hard sometimes, so it is so lovely to have such great internet support.
Thank you for continuing to read my blog throughout my journey, you have no idea how much it means. I hope you all stick around for the rest of my rid here on the internet. Thank you for supporting the little Welsh teen girl who likes to share her thoughts on the Internet, I still don’t know why anyone would ever want to read my blog but thank you anyway.
I will see you next week with another post, I really hope you enjoyed today’s and have a great rest of your week. Thank you so much for reading, it means so much, I love you all.
Lots of love,
