Hey everyone! ♡
I am so excited to say, welcome to Blogmas week day 1! It is freaking December, Last Christmas is blaring and the tree is glistening, mince pies are cooking and we are all having a jolly old time. Blogging at Christmas is the best, literally so many options for posts and everything is so positive. To hopefully start this week off with a bang, today’s post is going to be why it’s important to remember the true meaning of Christmas ( as a non-religious person) as I feel it’s good to delve into the deeper meaning as it is so easy to get wrapped up in presents and food. Hope you enjoy the post, leave a comment if you fancy, they make my day!
I think sometimes Christmas becomes this big celebration where people have the excuse to get drunk, eat amazing food and give and receive presents. When actually, there is so much more behind it. Christmas to me is all about spending quality time with the people you love, whether that be family, friends or anyone that you want to share it with. It is about spreading happiness and joy wherever you go, brightening up moods and putting smiles on faces. At the end of the day a smile from someone can feel like a 1000 presents. Also, helping out people in need, Christmas is the perfect time for charity and helping others. It is all appreciated and goes way further than we would ever imagine. I do admit, I definitely need to make more of an effort to do more for people who have less especially at Christmas, there is no better time.
Money, I think this can sometimes be a big worry for lots of people. Can’t buy certain people what they want, can’t get them as good things as everyone else. When actually, money shouldn’t matter at all, show everyone around you, love, make kind gestures, show that you care and that is all worth way more presidents than any amount of money can buy. Christmas is way more than money and we all forget that, don’t worry people are not looking for you to show how much money you have by buying the most expensive gifts on the shelves, they just want you to invite them round, go to their house, help the, pout. All coming together is way more important than all buying gifts. Also just a tip: Secret Santa’s are great way of giving everyone a gift for less money, everyone still gets a gift and you only have to buy one and you are all happy. Perfect, I tend to to this with my friends and it works wonders!
Christmas is also a time to be grateful and thankful for what you have. It is the perfect time to tell people you love them, say thank you to the people who raise you up, support you and have helped you become the person you are today. Just showing how thankful you are, appreciating what you have is so powerful. It is the time to appreciative and to remember that some people aren’t as lucky as us.
I just believe the once simple and lovely celebration of Christmas got twisted and complicated over time and has become something massive and maybe even so much pressure. Christmas shouldn’t be like that, it should just come down to: quality time, love and gratitude. These are the best qualities of Christmas and the ones that should be top of the list. To me personally, Christmas means so much, love, joy and happiness. It makes me the happiest girl in the world and I like to start the whole Christmas process as soon as possible because it is so positive and amazing. I love how everyone’s moods brightens, the positivity and how pretty everything is. Of course the amazing songs, foos and decorations are added bonuses!
Christmas can mean so many different things to so many different people, so I thought I would get other bloggers involved and get them to say what Christmas means to them and include their links, you must go and check all of them out, they are fab!
